When to Go to Australia for Vacation

When is the right time for Australia tours?

There are two main climate zones in Australia:

-The Tropical Zone

-The Temperate Zone

The Tropical Zone consists of about 40% of Australia, including most of Queensland, the Northern Territory, and northern Western Australia. There are two main seasons in the Tropical Zone: Wet (Summer) and Dry (Winter). The Wet Season, especially December to February, can be very hot and humid in the Tropical Zone.
Tropical Climate:
Wet – November to April
Dry – May to October

The Temperate Zone is the rest of Australia, and is a year-round destination. While it does boast four distinct seasons, the temperature ranges are mild enough that your “when to visit” decision should rely more on the things you’d like to do. Remember, though, that the seasons are opposite:
Spring- September to November
Summer- December to February
Autumn-March to May
Winter- June to August

The Snowy Mountain region in New South Wales experiences heavy snowfall in the winter and is a popular ski holiday destination.

Australia vacation, in terms of activities, for summer is a great time to visit the major cities in the south, especially Sydney with it’s world renowned festivities on New Years Eve. They also host many open-air events over the summer with lots of them free of charge. It is certainly a backpacker’s paradise!

For the whale watching, June through November is the best time to visit, especially September and October along the Queensland Coast.

Queensland is at its best in the winter months (May to October). The northern regions of Queensland such as Cairns and Great Barrier Reef also receive heavy rainfall especially from January to March. One may avoid the high humidity levels of relatively cooler southern areas in Queensland such as Brisbane by touring these parts in winter. The cool crisp winter air is healthy and refreshing.

New South Wales holds out its charming allure through out the year. The four distinct seasons, summer, autumn, winter and spring are well defined and visitors to these parts chalk out their itinerary as per the activities they prefer. The sunbathers and beach lovers prefer summer months (December-February) while those inclined towards skiing and such activities visit Snowy Mountains etc. from July to September.

Victoria is best visited between November and April though a tourist to Melbourne may be left puzzled due to the erratic and daily variation in the weather. South Australia is known for its temperate climate and relatively dry conditions. Summers are pleasant and winters tend to be chilly. Autumn is the best season to visit South Australia tourist attractions such as Adelaide

Want to visit the Outback and Uluru. Then best time to visit is from June to August.

Australia is a vast country with differing climates, so it is possible to arrange Australia tours at any time. Variation in climatic conditions makes various times of the year suitable for visiting specific regions within Australia.

Avoid Vacation Rush
Try to avoid Australia from Boxing Day (Dec 26) to the end of January, when Aussies take their summer vacations. In popular seaside holiday spots, hotel rooms and airline seats get scarce, and also a rare airline or hotel that will discount full rates by even a dollar.
