Things to Do on an Australian Luxury Holiday
    By David R Hughes

Travelling to Australia is different from travelling to other places. The place has great geographical variations, quite a unique wildlife and yet offers five star luxuries to all travellers. Take out time to explore Australian nature, and see the unique animals of Australia such as kangaroos and koalas. For this purpose you can visit the Warrawong Fauna Sanctuary in South Australia or go to a zoo closest to where you are staying.

Like any great tourist spot in the world, Australia does not come without some sun and some sea. In fact, it is a great place for you if you want to go surfing and swimming. For surfing, go to Surfers' Paradise. This place does not need an introduction - the name says it all. Bondi Beach in Sydney is also a great spot to go surfing.

The Great Barrier Reef in Queensland is a natural wonder. You can snorkel there, and view the magnificent play of colours and fish. There are also many water sports in Australia. Victoria and New South Wales offer very good skiing facilities.

Australia also offers some of the best rock climbing and mountain biking services. Some of the best places for mountain climbing include the Blue Mountains, Mount Arapiles and the You Yang.

Hot air ballooning and sky diving are other activities that you can do in Australia. Besides sports and wildlife, Australia is also a haven for many gamblers. The Crown Casino in Melbourne is the biggest in Australia. Also, some must see sights of Australia include the world renowned Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Ayers Rock (Uluru) and the Royal Botanic Gardens. Surely, there isn't anybody who is not familiar with the Sydney Opera House. After kangaroos, that is the thing most associated with Australia. The Sydney Harbour Bridge offers a spectacular look of Sydney Harbour.

This is especially breathtaking at night. Uluru is a 348 m high single rock in the middle of the desert. This is a beautiful contrast and Uluru seems to change in colour around the year. Guided tours of the structure are offered and should be availed to make the most of it.

Perhaps the most unique thing about Australia is its outback. Experience the wonders of the aboriginal habitat in Australia. Amid the deserts there are pockets of greenery and then, some deserts that you can traverse by camels. Kununurra in Western Australia is the place where rare pink diamonds are mined. You can also visit some old opal mines in Coober Pedy in South Australia. Many people in the area live underground. Even tourists can stay in underground motels and visit underground churches. Here, golf is played with glowing balls and is played at night. To experience exquisite vineyards and endless sunlight, travel to Mildura in Victoria or for a cool river dip, go to the Glen Helen Gorge in the Northern Territory - wherever you go, Australia is the place for people looking for venturing and adventuring.
